Every day, our school community gathers together for Collective Worship. As a Church school, our collective worship reflects the ethos and vision of the school and the traditions of the Church of England, while also valuing the those of other faiths.
We encourage children to be calm, respectful and reflective during Collective Worship. We are also invitational and expect children to contribute thoughtfully and to participate in prayer and songs if they feel able. We use music and candles to create a peaceful atmosphere and to act as a focal point for the children’s attention.
Every day, a different member of staff or clergy leads our collective worship:
- Monday is a Headteacher collective worship that is led by the Head of Primary
- Tuesday is a values collective worship and is led by the RE lead
- Wednesday is singing collective worship which is led by the acting Assistant Headteacher
- Thursday is either a class sharing collective worship, where each class also shares their learning once every term and parents are welcome to join us, or is led by the Head of Primary or Assistant Headteacher and focuses on current issues.
- Friday worship is a Celebrations collective worship and is led by Headteacher and Assistant Headteacher. During this collective worship, we have the opportunity to reflect on our school virtues and values as we recognise and celebrate the children’s achievements.
Collective Worship provides the opportunity for us to explore and reflect on our school vision and our shared school values.
